An oil berm is a facility used in oil storage and transportation, docks, ports, or offshore operations. Its primary function is to prevent oil spills, control the extent of leaks, and protect the environment and equipment.
This product, designed and manufactured by Aorunda, uses high-strength rubber, PVC, or TPU materials and can be customized in length, height, and shape to suit different work sites. Once installed, it forms a closed or semi-closed dike, confining leaked oil within its area for easy collection, recovery, or disposal, thus reducing environmental pollution and safety risks.
Oil Berm can be installed at oil unloading terminals, oil depot terminals, or port berths to contain spilled oil and prevent pollution of the water surface and terminal facilities. It can be used in conjunction with various fenders in the Aorunda product series to form a comprehensive protection system.
Suitable for use as oil spill containment dikes around oil depots, tank farms, and gas stations to prevent oil spills from spreading when storage tanks or pipelines leak. It can quickly collect spilled oil for easy recovery and disposal.
Using oil berms around offshore drilling platforms, oil production platforms, or offshore construction vessels can contain spilled oil and reduce the impact on the marine environment. This product is suitable for temporary deployment and can also be used permanently, adapting to different sea conditions.
When emergency oil spill response and liquid isolation of temporary construction areas are required, the product can be quickly deployed, moved, and used in combination.
Aorunda's Oil Berm is an environmentally friendly product that can be used in chemical plants, oil depots, and other liquid storage or transportation locations to prevent the spread of various liquids and avoid environmental pollution and safety accidents.
Before use, ensure the work site is flat, clean, and free of sharp objects or obstructions. Measure the required length and height of the Oil Berms based on the extent of the oil leak or the protected area.
Before deployment, check the dike material for damage, ensuring it is intact and free of obvious cracks or defects.
Deploy or join the oil berms from the storage location to the required length. During installation, ensure the bottom of the dike is tightly fitted to the ground or water surface to prevent leakage. If you choose a mobile dike, secure it with steel cables or ropes to prevent drifting.
After deployment, the dike will form a closed or semi-closed area to prevent oil spread. In case of a leak, oil can be collected within the dike for recovery or safe disposal. For better emergency response, Aorunda recommends deploying multiple Oil Berms to expand the protected area.
After use, clean oil stains from the surface of the dike. It can be rinsed with a neutral detergent or water. Inspect for damage and repair or replace if necessary. Roll up or fold and store in a dry, cool place, avoiding direct sunlight and scratches from sharp objects.
Regularly inspect to maintain material elasticity and sealing performance.
When storing and using Oil Berm, do not rub it directly on sharp or high-temperature surfaces. Avoid exceeding the material's load-bearing capacity and continuous floating time. Regularly check the sealing and overall structural integrity to ensure long-term reliable use.
